Juggling life…

Not sure I know how to juggle being a full time worker / mum / cleaner / fairy princess & football coach!

We moved to the seaside back in July 2015 and we sure have had some ups (seaside living) and downs (no money). I have been in and out of a couple jobs since November enjoying part time hours, but now the last 3 weeks I have been managing two fabulous ladies and working with some great kiddos. It’s been a challenging few weeks and I know there is more to come, but working full time and being there for my family is pretty tough.

Women seriously have to split themselves into two just so we can keep the peace in all areas of our lives. How the hell do you do it? It’s pretty damn tiring if you ask me! Full time working mama can be rewarding but extremely exhausting. For the last 2 years I never really got that ‘Friday Feeling’, but now I crave that large, very LARGE GLASS of vino and late night with the hubby (10pm late?) oh how I love a weekend.

Working full time brings some challenges, they are:

  • Keeping up with the washing…are the kids uniforms all washed?
  • What the heck do we cook for dinner when we get in at 6.45pm?
  • Do I set the alarm for 6.10am and get ready slowly or do we get up at 7am and rush about?
  • Do I get to work extra early and prepare my day or turn up on time and wing it?
  • Do I clean the house on a Friday, ready for a chilled weekend or leave it for Sunday, ready for the week ahead?
  • Should I cook food on Sunday ready to freeze for the week? Well that’s a great idea but 1) we don’t have a lot of room in the freezer and 2) I don’t wanna cook and clean on my Sunday!
  • The guilt you feel 1) not being able to take your kids to school or pick them up with other parents 2) not making those meetings that are not necessary but something you still would love to go to 3) getting homework done on time 4) beach trips after school
  • GUILT IS A HUGE PROBLEM

I guess if I give myself some time to settle into full time work and organise myself with the family it will all flow smoothly. It’s just finding the balance that’s tricky and for a libra, balance is what we crave.
Anyone have some great tips or ideas on how we can live a balanced life? Does that even exist? Throw them at me!

#MySundayPhoto

Our Sunday has been a fantastic day for mum and children bonding time.

We went to the movies this morning to see Hotel Transylvania 2  and myself and the kids thought it was fab…

Oscar was ready and waiting patiently-surprisingly lol

Caitlyn looks moody, probably cos mum has the camera in her face again, but she was so excited to see #2.

After the trip to the cinema, we headed over to SnApPyS soft play, sadly I didn’t get any pictures there.

How was your Sunday?

Normally hubby has most Sunday’s off, but this was his day to be in work.

Hope you all had a great day!

Our Week ‘Captured in Moments’!

So we have just finished the last week of our summer holidays and I must say it has certainly been a fun packed week spent with friends and family!

I know a lot of our friends from Sutton went back to school on Thursday but it’s also good to see that they had a great first couple days back.

Was fabulous to see them in their uniforms. Let’s just hope my kiddies have a fab first day at their new school and make lots of lovely friends.

So, before we head off to school, here are our pictures with my family and friends.

We loved having daddy with us for bank holiday Monday. We enjoyed a lovely lunch then a walk down to the beach.

The weather wasn’t very good but the fresh air and chilly breeze got us ready for a cuppa and our roast dinner.

The kids are loving living by the sea, even when the weather is crappy.

We had a great day with new friends at the park on Tuesday.

We spent a whole 4 hours of swinging, sliding, jumping, playing football and running like mad.
Thursday we spent the afternoon at a friends beach hut. The kids yet again loved being at the beach and I got to have a chinwag with the girls.  Friday we had visitors from London. Carly and I worked together back in 2009 for a year and have been great friends ever since.

Carly and her mum Elaine visited for the day. We showed them around, had a walk along the seafront and enjoyed jacket potatoes for lunch. Thanks for visiting us ladies!!

Happy Day’s!!

Out and About

This week hubby has been away so we have been out and about just like any other normal wee just without daddy in tow. The kids were back and forth from nursery and school…swimming lessons and athletics club. We enjoyed trips to the park and into the woods. I am a happy person when we get to enjoy the outdoors with lovely weather x

Fun at Home

With hubby away we enjoyed having a dinner date with friends….the kids enjoyed roast chicken and a movie with popcorn and treats on Monday eve. We had another visitor over Thursday eve for afternoon tea and a play.

While Caitlyn has been home with me we have enjoyed some baking too. We baked up a storm…we sure love to bake together!

Carrot Cake!

    Coffee cake!

Wow was this coffee cake yummy!!😋

Time for Me

Didn’t get much time to myself but the evenings were lovely…I have the chose of the remote which is always a bonus lol! While the kids were at nursery / school I got to clean the house in peace and watched some catch up shows.

My Happiest Moment

Loves seeing my youngest take part in her first athletics club session. Although she is only 4, she took part in a 6years + class and did really well. She loved it and had a huge smile on her face when she had won a race (even if they gave her a head start 😉) she is such a confident and courages littl girl. Nothing scares her! So proud!

Next week I would like to…

  • I would like to take Oscar to a football session in our park.
  • Daddy will watch Caitlyn at athletics
  • Enjoy yet more quality time with my kids (they grow so quickly)
  • Enjoy a meet up with a friend and her wee little man
  • AND most importantly celebrate mine and hubby’s 7th wedding anniversary❤️!!

HappyDays – Gratitude List

I haven’t taken part in a #HappyDays linky for a while and it’s about time we write another one, as im sure I have been grateful for a lot of things this last week.

Our week has been full of joy, happiness, excitement and fun. Here are the things I am very Grateful for!!

  • Back to school
After a fun two week easter break with the kids, I was very grateful in knowing that I was gonna get my two mornings back to have ‘ME’ time.
  • Family & Friends

I am always very grateful for my family and friends and I love them all very much. I have made some great friends lately and felt a lot closer to them and would do anything for them. Making new friends comes pretty easy to me but sometimes it’s hard to know who are genuine or not. I am lucky to say I feel very happy with those who have chosen me to be their friend too. My husband-I am so very grateful for his hard work. He is studying at the moment and leaves for a week to MK next week, I’m gonna miss him very much!

  • School Placements

Thursday last week was the day we waited patiently to find out what school our youngest was attending…obviously with my oldest at a great school already we weren’t very nervous about her going anywhere but their. We also didn’t really know whether to be excited or not as we are hoping to still move before Sep this year to Whitstable (all depending on whether I find work) so their are mixed emotions. Still, very happy to know we have options. Eekkkk my baby girl is getting far to BIG!

  • After School Activity – Athletics

Oscar started attending an athletics club after school at the David Weir Centre!! He has only ettended two sessions but wow is he enjoying it. Now like any boy, Oscar just wants everything to be a race. Race to getting dressed, a race eating food and of course running races. He has already tried high jump, long jump, sprints and other activities. He is very much obsessed and full of drive to beat them.

  • Building up my Blog

So recently I have started up my blog via Facebook and it has been going really well. I am so pleased to see the likes on my page rising and I hope I can keep up with making sure everyone is liking what they see on my blog.

So we have had a great week and feel another one is gonna get even better.
