Motherhood is TOUGH #QuoteLinky

Motherhood is one tough bugger!!!!

Feel like I’m struggling with being a ‘Mummy’ at the moment.

Not sure if it’s just hormones, the age of the kids, or am I being seriously unreasonable, but I’m struggling with motherhood and my stress levels are taking over.

I of course put my children’s health and happiness first, before mine.

They are my rocks and my best friends, but most importantly I am trying my hardest to be their teacher and their leader. I really try hard to do the right thing and show them the right ways to deal with situations and cope well under pressure but I don’t think I am coping well under pressure at all (especially when I’m hormonal) are there other mums out there who shout and scream and feel they can’t cope well when hormonal?

I feel I am not doing anything right at the moment. I’m not coping well with 7 year old attitude 😞 deep down I know he isn’t really being naughty but I have standards that might be a little too demanding-‘can a 7 year old really do what he is told first time round with no strops’ NO.

I’m constantly shouting, moaning and cross….is it me and why am I like this? Venting with friends is great and having a supportive hubby is amazing but I don’t want our days filled with a moody mum. Are there any GOOD techniques to stop me from being a horrid shouting mummy?! HELP PLEASE…tips and advice welcome 👍🏼

Cuddle Fairy

I have just joined quicky qoutes today and as I am feeling a little stressed these last few days, I thought this fits perfectly…there is a lot on my mind at the mo….money and family is always a sure thing to stress anyone out I’m sure and the decisions we make are pretty stressful too.
We would love to move out of SUTTON and be closer to the seaside but it’s proving to be a scary process. I still hope it happens when we want it to happen.
My first qoutes is exactly what I should be doing….not stress, not obsess and just have FAITH it will all work out if it’s meant to work out.

This qoute is very true…if I worry to much then it will stop me from what I have to focus on today.

Fingers crossed I stop worrying and do more doing lol!

Mummy role #28 NURSE!!

So us mums and dads have many a role right….we have many jobs and play many parts when it comes to being a parent. These roles might include:

  • Teacher
  • Psychologist
  • Driver
  • Mentor
  • Friend
  • Cleaner and so on….
  • ….but when it’s time to play nurse we feel sometimes helpless and sad that our little ones are not feeling well.

It might be a bump or a fall in the park or feeling a headache coming on and a temp starting but we must be on call for our kiddies and we hope we can do all we can to make them feel better.

The weather these days seems to be a little confusing. One minute it’s 28 then it’s 15 degrees….can’t you just make up ur bloody mind. Oh wait we live in England😜!!

So what with the sudden change of weather and unsure what to wear outdoors, this can bring on sickness and illnesses to others around us very quickly and the popular sickness going around at the moment is the SICKNESS BUG😷😤😰!!

Kids catch each other’s coughs and colds so quickly and it drives me up the wall. Can’t stand to see kids with runny noses.

So now my little girl has that horrid runny nose and not such a good cough either. Madam NEVER sleeps in the day unless she is unwell and it seems that after I told her to have a chill out on her bed, I have walked in 10 mins later to find her asleep and obviously not feeling well.

It seems us ladies in the house catch these colds a lot more than the men and we seem to suffer more too. I don’t think it’s man flu for men but MAN FLU for women lol!

So now madam isn’t well I think it’s time for my role to change from cleaner to nurse.

What is needed to be a mummy/daddy nurse:

  • Be loving and offer sickness cuddles.
  • Be on demand to offer fluids, meds and blankets.
  • Supply playdough on a tray with cutters for while they lay on the sofa or in bed.
  • If they have a cough then NO dairy and NO sweet products as this can make coughs worse.
  • Just love and cuddle them always but put that MASK on if you do t want to catch it!
  • Apply Vix on feet and chest….and drink lots of water!

Let’s just hope this isn’t on going. Hope you feel better soon Caitlyn! Mummy nurse is here!

Daddy Love…

So like I said before, hubby was away for a WHOLE week…

The kids missed him like crazy and when he returned safe and sound, they jumped all over him. Smothering him with all the love hugs and kisses in the world. It was a very sweet sight indeed lol!

Although I am pretty much with the kids all day, including bath and dinner time, the kids do enjoy daddy putting them to bed and we all do enjoy the days daddy is off. The minute he walks through the door it’s daddy is home and Caitlyn will jump up and run for cuddles.

Caitlyn is very much daddy’s girl when he is home and very much mummy mummy when I’m with her….she is so affectionate and loving towards both Mark and I but more so with Mark on his days off. It’s “daddy come here” and “daddy will you help me?”

Daddy can be strict but he can also let them get away with a few things here and there, guess because he doesn’t see them as much as I do lol! Although I do like an easy life too sometimes.

Daddy is away again in June for another week of training and then 2 days in July. Feels very strange but we are so proud with how hard he works. We love you daddy💞

Fathers Day Soon!!!

Happy Day’s!!

Out and About

This week hubby has been away so we have been out and about just like any other normal wee just without daddy in tow. The kids were back and forth from nursery and school…swimming lessons and athletics club. We enjoyed trips to the park and into the woods. I am a happy person when we get to enjoy the outdoors with lovely weather x

Fun at Home

With hubby away we enjoyed having a dinner date with friends….the kids enjoyed roast chicken and a movie with popcorn and treats on Monday eve. We had another visitor over Thursday eve for afternoon tea and a play.

While Caitlyn has been home with me we have enjoyed some baking too. We baked up a storm…we sure love to bake together!

Carrot Cake!

    Coffee cake!

Wow was this coffee cake yummy!!😋

Time for Me

Didn’t get much time to myself but the evenings were lovely…I have the chose of the remote which is always a bonus lol! While the kids were at nursery / school I got to clean the house in peace and watched some catch up shows.

My Happiest Moment

Loves seeing my youngest take part in her first athletics club session. Although she is only 4, she took part in a 6years + class and did really well. She loved it and had a huge smile on her face when she had won a race (even if they gave her a head start 😉) she is such a confident and courages littl girl. Nothing scares her! So proud!

Next week I would like to…

  • I would like to take Oscar to a football session in our park.
  • Daddy will watch Caitlyn at athletics
  • Enjoy yet more quality time with my kids (they grow so quickly)
  • Enjoy a meet up with a friend and her wee little man
  • AND most importantly celebrate mine and hubby’s 7th wedding anniversary❤️!!
What Katy Said

Doing it ALONE for a week!

I have been a little nervous about this week the last few weeks leading up to it as it’s the week hubby is away on training for work.

Hubby works very hard and being a stay at home mum I’m generally the one doing all the running around for the kids but this is the time I’ll do EVERYTHING!

I am a very lucky lady to not have to do much of a morning. Hubby does the ironing and sorts the kids breakfast-I get brought a cuppa in bed 😜 (oh how I miss you) then I get up and make hubby his brekkie and make him a coffee, we sort the kids out, I watch the kids when they do their teeth and then I head out and take them to school and nursery. So now I have to do the 6 am wake up & iron (the night before as I don’t want to stress out in the am) lol etc etc

Wednesday’s are normally hubby’s day off so he does the school run. Oscar loves it and gets to ride his bike. We enjoy days out and just spend time together-we miss out this week😢!

Although I have been a little nervous, it seems to all be going ok at the moment…(writing on Tuesday morning…continue on…)

We were lucky to have friends over for dinner and a movie on Monday night …the kids had a ball!

Tuesday morning we had a little time to spare so we enjoyed a game of Uno and Caitlyn and I enjoyed a play date at Kidpsace.

Tuesday evening we enjoyed a cosy night in with a film and popcorn. We missed daddy so much, we have been facetiming him every evening.

Wednesday Caitlyn and I enjoyed the toddler group with Carly. Always good to catch up with a great friend and hear Happy News!! This day was also a very exciting day for my youngest as she had the chance to take part in athletics today. She did so well and participated well seen it was a class for  6+ year olds. Well done Cakie 👍🎉

Thursday (1 sleep till daddy is home) Oscar had a very busy day at school and had a swimming lesson too…very busy and rather grumpy when he got home at 4.30!

We all enjoyed a tea play date with Caitlyn’s friend…the kids played dress up and made a picnic. They enjoyed bangers, mash and veg for tea and pastry with custard for pudding. Lovely cuppa for the mums and a chin wag too.

Cosy night in again watching my new found obsesson ‘Orange is the New Black’ season 2!!

Friday after school we enjoyed an outing in the woods with friends…the kids took their scooters and they had a ball climbing trees.

Hubby came home and the kids had a sleep over at nana’s house. I enjoyed a lovely dinner with friends. The food was fab at Blacks Burgers a must for anyone who hasn’t been.

Overall we had a brilliant week and although we missed daddy…we enjoyed our time together and happy to have him home.
